Frank Pastore,

Entered his earthly life: August 21, 1957

Entered his eternal life: December 17, 2012

Frank E. Pastore was a devoted follower of Christ, loyal Husband, loving Father, proud Grandfather, and humble Friend. Pastore was born in Alhambra, California and was a 1975 graduate of Damien High School in La Verne, California.

Frank Pastore was a physically awkward kid who became a professional athlete. An okay student who goes on to earn two masters degrees in philosophy. A former atheist who ends up hosting the biggest Christian radio talk show in America. He was a loyal & devoted Husband, a loving Father, and a very proud Grandfather.

Pastore was a second round draft pick by the Cincinnati Reds in 1975. He made his big league debut with the Reds in 1979 with his best season coming in 1980 when he went 13-7 with a respectable 3.27 ERA with 9 complete games.

After seven seasons with the Reds, Pastore ended his big league career in 1986 with the Minnesota Twins. A former atheist, Pastore began to embrace Christianity in 1984 after a Steve Sax line drive shattered his pitching elbow. Read Frank’s autobiography Shattered by following this link.

Two decades later, after attaining graduate degrees in theology and political science Frank became the host of the KKLA 99.5 FM Frank Pastore Show, the most listened to Christian radio talk shows in America which addressed both religion and politics from a Frank point of view. The Frank Pastore Show was the winner of the National Religious Broadcasters Talk Show of the Year in 2007 and 2011.

Frank and Gina have been married for 34 years, have two adult children: Frank E. Pastore, Jr. and Christina Pastore Smallwood, and one grandson: Michael. He was a loyal & devoted Husband, a loving Father, and a very proud Grandfather.

On December 17, 2012, Frank E. Pastore closed his eyes to this life…and he opened them in the glorious presence of our Lord.

See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ. For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority. {Colossians 2:8-10}

In lieu of flowers, the Pastore Family asks that donations be made to one of Frank’s favorite charities, Cross International, in his honor.
